The magic of Walt Disney, coupled with the magic and the natural beauty of Hawaii will be definitively irresistible: a dream come true next year.In the summer of 2011, Disney Parks & Resorts plans to open a resort in Hawaii, located near the world-famous Waikiki Beach in Ko Olina on the Oahu Island, the main of the Hawaiian chain (Honolulu).
Named Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, Ko Olina, Hawaii, the company makes clear that is committed to celebrate in full the culture, history and traditions of Hawaii in all aspects of the project, from the architectural design of the hotel to the landscape, gardens, and activities, such as Disney, this is always based on stories.At the moment, the resort is under construction and is expected first phase to open its doors in the summer of 2011.
"We want this resort to reflect the vibrant culture that surrounds it," said Joe Rohde, creative Vice President of Walt Disney Imagineering, who worked in the Animal Kingdom of Disney World theme park.
Aulani name expresses a connection with the traditions and stories - and their roots are here on this earth ", said Rohde."We are very grateful to the local people who guided us to discover this name, and our goal is to be faithful to its meaning."
Rohde added Aulani, name of the Hawaiian language, means the site speaks for the large, "or the place that speaks with profound messages".
Located in the West of the island of Oahu, near of historic sites such as the port of Pearl Harbor, Aulani will have 21 acres of land facing the sea in the Ko Olina Resort & Marina development project.The resort consists of 360 rooms and 481 units two bedroom Disney Vacation Club, a project of shared ownership.
The design of the resort plans shall include facilities for recreation and entertainment for all ages - one of the key of every Disney project attributes.Between what is in the table are swimming pools, jacuzzis with view to the implementation of the Sun, crystal clear lagoons for snorkeling diving, a kids club with activities supervised for children, a stream to float relaxing by beautiful volcanic panoramas, white sand beach and a spa.
The spa will have 18,000 square foot designed with families in mind and facilities for all ages. Aulani will also have two restaurants, a Centre for conferences 14,545 square feet, and 48,685 square feet for outdoor activities. Ko Olina Wharf and Ted Robinson designed 18 hole championship golf course is located near of the resort.
